Below is a list of everything you will need to make this Snowman

  • Stylecraft Special DK – less than 50g in any colours you choose – I used the following colours;
    • White (1001)
    • Matador (1010)
    • Citron (1263)
    • Walnut (1054)
    • Black (1002)
  • 2mm hook
  • Stuffing
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch marker

Below is a list of all the stitches (and their abbreviations) featured in this series of patterns.  All terms used are American.

  • Sc – single crochet
  • Ch – chain
  • Sc inc – sc increase
  • Sc dec – sc decrease
  • m/c – magic circle
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • fsc – foundation single crochet
  • 3 dc tog – 2 double crochet together, yarn over, insert hook and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over, insert hook and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over, insert hook and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over and pull through all remaining loops

Here are a few handy tips to help you with the pattern.

  • There is no specific gauge for this snowman, just work as tightly as possible.
  • The snowman is made using join as you go techniques for stick arms
  • The Material list is for a Snowman who is 10cm tall and 5cm wide (the perfect size to go in the Gingerbread House Adventure Bag.) If you want a larger sized Snowman then you can use a 6mm hook and Aldi Chunky yarn (or equivalent)
