Here are a few handy tips to help you with the pattern.

  • The gauge for this bag is 15 sc and 15 rows in a 10cm square.
  • The bag is made is completely made before the lining is added, this is optional but does give the bag a better finish,
  • The bag is made holding 2 strands of yarn together for all colours except the black, which only uses 1 strand.
  • The finished bag is 32cm tall and 28 cm wide.
  • The strap measures 86cm long, if you wish to make this shorter or longer then add or subtract rows as required.

To finish

  • Add part of the magnetic bag clip to the snowman body between the scarf and buttons centrally.
  • Cut 2 circles of the fat quarter and the wadding about an inch bigger than the bag.
  • Places the circles in the following order, wadding, fabric right side up, fabric wrong side up, wadding, then sew about ¾ of the way around the fabric.
  • Insert this sewn fabric inside the bag and fold over the opening hole to hide the edges. Pin this to the outside of the bag and sew in place.
  • Cut 1 circle of material and wadding about an inch bigger than the flap.
  • Pin flap material and wadding to the flap and fold over, note where the second part of the magnetic bag clip needs to go to match up with the bag. Put small holes through the fabric and wadding and attach the bag clip.   Then sew the material and wadding to the bag flap.
