 1.  Materials and Resources

Below is a list of everything you will need to make Daisy

  • 100g balls of aran yarn in green, red, white, brown and skin pink. (I used paintbox simply aran) (This amount will make you Jingle the elf too)
  • Odd pieces of black for sewing mouth, belt and shoe laces
  • 2 x 20mm safety eyes (or you can sew them on in black)
  • Stuffing
  • 4 mm hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors
  • 2 x bells
  1. Stitch List

Below is a list of all the stitches (and their abbreviations) featured in this series of patterns.  All terms used are American.

  • Sl st – slip stitch
  • Sc – single crochet
  • Sc inc – single crochet increase
  • Sc dec – single crochet decrease
  • Ch – chain
  • Loop stitch
  • f/l – front loops
  • b/l – back loops
  • Shell Stitch – (5 double crochet in same stitch, skip 2 stitches, sc, skip 2 stitches) repeat around)

 Notes

Here are a few handy tips to help you with the pattern.

  • All these patterns are worked in continuous rounds, do not sl st at the end of each round. A stitch marker is essential for keeping track of the start of your rows.
  • When changing colour, use the new colour to complete the last yarn over in the final stitch before the colour change. (e.g. for the stripes in the leg, complete 17 stitches in colour red, for the 18th stitch, insert your hook and pull up the loop in red, but then yarn over and pull through in white.  The work the next row in white. )

  Gauge

Candy has no specific gauge, however they need to be as tight as possible to prevent the stuffing from coming out.
